Welcome to Speedwell House

Based in Hope Valley, Derbyshire.

An Introduction to Speedwell House:

About Us

Speedwell House is run personally by the owners, Hilary and Mark.

Speedwell House is situated in the village of Castleton with superb views where you can relax following a day exploring the Peak District National Park.

The breakfast room and both of the bedrooms enjoy views of Peveril Castle and Peak Cavern and the start of the White Peak limestone dales.

Guests receive complimentary refreshments on arrival, and are welcome to enjoy our gardens and meadows and take in the beautiful views. Breakfast is a leisurely affair with lots of choice from cereal, toast, fruit and yoghurt to a locally sourced, freshly cooked full English breakfast. Most dietary requirements can be catered for with prior notice.

We have private parking to the front and rear of the house for your car or motorbike.

Free Wi-Fi is available in both rooms.

We look forward to welcoming you soon to what we hope will be the first of many visits.

Breakfast

Breakfast is served between 8 and 10am at a pre-arranged specific time to suit guests. It is served in our bright and spacious breakfast room which is on the ground floor with a log burning stove.

Our delicious breakfasts will set you up for the day whether you choose a full English breakfast or one of our lighter choices. Most dietary requirements can be catered for with prior notice.

There is also a choice of cereals, granola, yoghurts and fruit along with toast and preserves.

Our Rooms

Speedwell House has two ensuite deluxe double bedrooms with luxurious mattresses and high quality bedding with a seating area in each room. Along with beautiful views of Peveril Castle, the rooms are furnished to a very high standard with:

  • Fresh chilled water
  • Hair Dryer

Both bedrooms have been individually designed to ensure you have a comfortable stay. Each ensuite has toiletries, towels, and individually designed fixtures and fittings by Elphius Flux, local upcyclers of distinction.

Regrettably we do not allow pets in the house, however we will soon be developing our barns as self-catering holiday accommodation and these will be dog friendly. The house is completely non-smoking.
